Practice session \"Lets Get Confused\"

Be sure to check the show updates in the “Show” section and studio time has been booked for October 16, 2011 at Battlegroundsound Studios in Norfolk, VA. to begin laying down the drums for the next Funksion album. This album is definitely a little more upbeat then their previous album Selling Fiction. This is a bit slower with some more emotional songs written. There are still some classic Funksion style songs, but some are a bit more evolved then the songs of the past. Look for the completed album to be available in the early part of 2012! Funksion will be doing a very special acoustic set at Roger’s in Chesapeake on August 19th in a fundraising effort for a young girl named Jo Jo who is battling cancer! They will be playing with Til the Casket Drops, Synesthesia, DHH and Into Ashes that evening. Please try and come out to help her family to raise some money to help the fight during this trying time in their lives! Plus, you will get to hear them do some songs that havent been played in years in a rare acoustic set at 8 pm!

Thats right, Funksion will be opening for Rehab on July 14, 2011 at The Norva Theater in downtown Norfolk, VA! Tickets available at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Funksion will be headlining with Martha Dumptruck and The Gloom kicking off the night of ROCK at Geared Up in Virginia Beach!

Evacuation Plan

Hello all, funksion is busy recording new material! They have given us a sneak peak of the first track, “Evacuation Plan.” Be sure to click on the song title above to listen. Also, a second track will be released in the coming days. Details of the release and the purchase sites for the new tracks are still being negotiated, but the new ones will be available for purchase as soon as the details are worked out with the distributors. First off, a new show has just been announced. Funksion will be rocking out at Chicho’s at the corner of Kempsville Road and Volvo Parkway on April 9th, 2011. If many of you are left after seeing the last show at the NorVa, you want to be sure not to miss this one. Funksion will be playing a mix of both killer new songs, and old songs alike, and you don’t want to miss this. Also on the bill will be Star33. Doors at 9pm. Also, be sure to check us out April 1st at Geared Up in Va Beach, VA opening for 710 Oil!

I’ve just received word that your favorite band, Funksion, will be headlining the NorVa Theatre on January 14th. What better way to ring in the New Year than by rocking out with Funksion?

Also appearing are The EZD3, David Hasselhoff’s Haircut, O.I.L., and Undercross. You couldn’t ask for a more exciting lineup!

Funksion is really looking forward to this show. I’ve personally seen the set list, and it’s a killer combination of new songs, and old songs that everyone loves. I can’t tell you what’s on it specifically, as that would ruin the surprise, but I can give you a hint. People always want to make sure their “makeup” is applied with the appropriate “patterns and shades”. And the groundhog will never see his “shadow” at “midnight”.

Funksion apologizes wholeheartedly for the lack of updates recently. The guys have been very busy writing and recording new material. The good news is that they have recently finished up the mixing for a new song, Evacuation Plan. They have been working with a producer at Brickhouse studios in Virginia Beach. They played the new song for me, and I can tell you without a doubt that it has the best sound of anything they’ve recorded before!

Funksion has also booked a show at Chicho’s on 29th and Pacific, in Virginia Beach. Local rockers The Gloom are also on the bill, and I promise you don’t want to miss this. I’ve seen the set list, and it includes a lot of new material, as well as some oldies they haven’t played in a long, long while. Those of you “back home” in Deep Creek might know what I’m talking about!

I’ve just received word from Funksion that Martha Dumptruck and Eclectic will be playing with Funksion at the Bridge on February 20th. I’ve you’ve never seen them before, be sure to come out!
